The idea was to have a boutique function with a targeted audience. It was all about the children, young adults and about family – together with the Komo Centre staff this is exactly how the app2vox trial launch was, a colourful and eventful function held at the Komo Centre on the 10th September courtesy of the app2vox team. The event was attended by host of dignitaries including the advisor to Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS, Country Manager South African Airlines and (Rtd) Ambassador of Uganda, also in attendance were a number of centres working with people with autism. One of the highlights of the event was the application showcase which sparked a lot of excitement among the invited guests on the potential that this could have for their children, relatives and students. The raffle draw which marked the close of the event saw Walusimbi Moses a representative from Special Children Special People – SCSP organisation walk away with a brand new hudl 2 tablet. In summary, the launch event was one of many successes on the roadmap through the trials and onto the final product roll out.
